Fam. Des Moines Beer week kicks off this Friday, June 15th!
Celebrating the growing Des Moines beer scene, area breweries, restaurants and bars will hold a range of special events during Des Moines Beer Week (DSMBW) from June 15 – 24, 2018. Established in 2014, Des Moines Beer Week is an annual celebration that aims to highlight Greater Des Moines’ growing craft beer scene. Participating businesses create, plan and host fun & unique events during the week for craft beer drinkers to enjoy.
“The beer culture in Iowa, and Des Moines in particular, has really grown over the past few years, said organizer Rachel Abel of 818 – a tiny design empire. “The array of events scheduled reflects that, as there really is something for everyone.”
“We want to encourage people to participate as we work to highlight the many great local, regional, and national breweries that are driving travel, fun and economic growth in Des Moines and around Iowa,” said Rachel.
The festivities begin with the Beer Mile on Friday at el Bait Shop and continue on Saturday with the Iowa Craft Beer Festival. Then throughout the week there will be special beer releases, tap takeovers, and many other unique beer infused events. For a complete listing, head over the events page here. Don’t forget to pick up your new craft beer week swag while you’re there (those new lids look tiiight).
