We all know there are thousands of apps to choose from, but when it comes to documenting what kind of food your eating or what you’re drinking there aren’t too many to choose from. There are two apps that I love to use and share what I’m drinking and also to remember what I like and don’t like. Here are two apps that the social drinker should pair with.

I have fallen into the craft beer craze and love trying the funkiest, and most unique beers I can find. Forget those big name breweries. There’s something more rewarding enjoying a delicious six pack than getting drunk off of a case of Natty, or Stones (good lord). I am the point where there have been enough unique beers that I can’t remember all of them so thanks to the first app I’ll highlight, I don’t have that problem any more.

Untappd.

Document any and every beer that you are currently drinking. A cool feature is that you can take a picture of the beer and push it out to your social media channels and the friends that you follow on Untappd. The only downside is that I wish it had a little bit more information about the beer when you check-in. You can also find trending beers, and bars near you by clicking on the compass. It’s great when you’re out traveling, you can know exactly what all the locals like to tip back. You can also get specific, new, recommendations as you continue to check-in so you’ll always be searching for something new to try. It’s a great app to keep track of your beers. CHEERS!

Delectable

This app is very similar to Untappd, but a little bit more on the classier side. I say that only because it’s wine. 🙂 You can rate the wine and type out what you enjoyed about it, tag the restaurant where you tried it or the friend you tried it with, and share to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.  The cool part of this app is that you take a picture of  your wine bottle to ‘check-in’. It reads the label and then you’re all set to share and drink. Another neat thing that Delectable will do is that they will help you track down that amazing bottle you had at the restaurant you ate at last night. In fact, they’ll arrange for the wine you loved to be shipped right to your door (if the state you live in allows such things.) Since they don’t have any inventory, you could say that Delectable serves as a ‘wine concierge’.
