Tonight was one of those nights where I just kept throwing things together. It’s like a painting, starting with one color and then adding more to make it a great piece. Start with your main piece and then keep adding flavors in and you come up with a great meal.
My ‘main’ choice tonight was something with a pork chop. I wanted something a little bit more fun and flavorful than throwing it on the grill with some seasoning. This meal has a sweet taste at first and then gives you a nice flare of spice once it goes down. Here’s what you need:
- 1 pork chop
- 1/2 of a jalapeno (cut thick, and use the seeds)
- 1/2 of a red pepper (chop into large chunks)
- 1/4 tablespoon of fresh chopped garlic (something like Bellino Garlic works great)
- 2 caps full of olive oil
- Drizzle of honey.
Start off with heating your pan and a cap full of olive oil. After a couple of minutes throw in your chopped veggies and let them saute for 1 minute.
Now, place your pork chop in the pan and add another cap full of olive oil and spoon some fresh garlic on and around the pork. You should start to smell the veggies and garlic mixing together. It’s delicious.
Make sure to keep your veggies close to the pork to make sure you get the flavors soaked into the meat.
Flip your meat to the other side and place one more little scoop of garlic and toss some of the veggies on top of the meat.
After about 10 minutes you should be ready to plate it. Place some veggies on top and around your pork chop, DRIZZLE your pork chop with some honey and you’re ready to enjoy a sweet and spicy pork chop.
— Serve with white rice, and a salad.
