DEAL ALERT!
Tonight, I went out to Wellmans in West Glen and indulged in their endless wings for $6.99! The wings there are very large, especially for all you can eat. Thick, steaming hot, white meat with sauce awaits your taste buds. They give you 8 to start with and then, after your first plate, they bring the wings out in boats (about 6 in each boat). You can choose from Hot, Mild, BBQ, Honey Spice, Plain, and Garlic Parmesan. I ordered Garlic Parmesan first. I didn’t think I was going to like them but, dang, they were awesome. The sauce was perfect with the wing. It was kind of creamy, lots of fresh crumbled parmesan on the wing and just enough garlic that you won’t be burping it up all night. The wings at Wellmans are unique. They have a smokey flavor, and then it’s tough to tell whether they grill or deep fry the wings. It’s not like they’re greasy either. I can’t get my head around it. I was going to ask how they cook them but I forgot to ask our waitress. My second batch, I ordered plain and dipped them in ranch. They are great plain, too. There is so much flavor from the wing that it’s nice to enjoy them naked.
So, next time you’re thinking wings, think about going to Wellman’s Rooftop on Wednesdays for all you can eat wing night.
