Every weekend we try to go up to our lake house in Clear Lake, Iowa. So far, we have been doing a pretty good job of that this summer.
When we go up we usually like to spend a day of just fishing. We have been having a lot of luck up there this year, compared to last year, with the walleye. Each walleye we caught was very close to a keeper size (greater than 14″). This past weekend, we caught about 25 fish through the course of the whole weekend. Out of those, we kept 6. 3 walleye, and 3 yellowbass. My brother caught the two biggest walleye’s of the weekend. Both were at 18.5″. With that, we had a fish fry!!
Now, most of the time, fish fry’s consist of hot grease, and thick batter on the fillets. We do it a little differently; a little lighter.
We cook our fish by, first, dipping them in egg. After dipping them in egg, you place them in flour that has lemon pepper mixed in. Once both sides are covered, throw it in a buttered pan. Wait until they are golden brown, and you have a delicious piece of fish. mmmm. Top it off with a lemon wedge, and you’re eatin’ right.
Cheers from Clear Lake, Iowa!
