Let me start off by saying that it is virtually impossible to find an appetizing photo of green beer. There’s just something so unnatural and off-putting about it, but year after year it’s the drink of choice for St. Patty’s Day! It’s the one day a year that everyone gets to be Irish (Irish)!
We all know and love Guinness, but Ireland offers an array of other tasty brews that you should try to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Here are three alternatives to the Classic Guinness Draught:
3) Harp Irish Lager
If a lager is your thing, try a Harp! It is a little more robust than Coors or Budweiser, but will not weigh you down like a stout.
2) O’Hara’s Irish Stout
Tart, bitter, and robust, this stout’s roasted flavors end with an espresso-like note.
1) Smithwick’s Premium Irish Ale
This beer has a caramel flavor with very hoppy notes, it has a fairly light flavor, though. It is reddish in color (especially in the light).
