Summer brings heat and with heat brings sweat and exhaustion. Stay healthy and refreshed with these 4 Summer Super-foods.
- Blueberries: These are one of my favorite foods as of now. We keep buying huge boxes from Costco. Blueberries are packed with antioxidants such as Vitamins A and C. Aside from topping yogurt and granola with the berry, I like to grab a handful before I head out to the golf course or a workout.
- Cantaloupe: Dicing this melon up and throwing a couple bites down is refreshing as licking a cold ice cream cone- except healthier. One cup of melon contains only 53 calories and fulfills your daily nutritional requirements for vitamins A and C.
- Raspberries: This little berry is a super food. A great sweet treat, as well as a great health treat. Raspberries are high in antioxidants that promote overall health. Under 100 calories, a cup of these berries provides a third of your daily requirement for fiber.
- Snap Peas: They have a sweet taste and are rich in fiber and other nutrients and low in calories. It’s a pretty popular veggie during the summer. These are a great vegetable to serve guests. Grab some of Marzetti’s Dill Veggie-Dip and you’re set for a very refreshing appetizer or snack. They are a great snack for after working in the yard or after an afternoon run. According to MyFitnessPal, each cup of snap peas contains 5 g of protein.
Enjoy these 4 Summer Super-foods and you’re set for a healthy and refreshing summer.
